Complications of Candida includes the following
• Severe discomfort
• Malnutrition or dehydration because of difficulty in swallowing

• holes in the esophagus

These Candida diseases may cause the inflammation and swelling of the esophagus. This is due to the cause of acid-containing stomach contents refluxing back up into the esophagus. This acid causes the Gastroesophageal reflux disease.

The Candida may also be caused due to other conditions such as weakened immune systems example includes HIV, Cancer or certain medications such as corticosteroids.

If this is left untreated may cause uncomfortable, and can lead to difficulty when swallowing, ulcers in the esophagus, or scarring of the esophagus. In rare instances, a condition known as Barrett’s esophagus may develop which is a risk factor for cancer of the esophagus.
