Diagnosis of
Candida includes the following
Candida Immune Test: This
is a blood test which detects the presence of antibodies that fight
against the yeast which causes the infections.
Stool Test: An exam of
stool under a microscope could disclose the presence of Candida.
Presence of Symptoms:
Sometimes symptoms are hint to make a diagnosis of Candida overgrowth.
In many of the cases 20 or more symptoms are present. Care should be
taken that symptoms are not a result of some other underlying
disorder.
In adults an exam of the mouth or part of the skin affected by the
candida is taken for the diagnosis for the presence of candida. This
will be mounted on the slide with potassium hydroxide and examined for
a branching pattern consistent with yeast.
