Candida is differentiated according to the
area of the body affected by this Infection.
The following
are some of the areas of the body where Candida will be present
• Oral Thrush: This is a
type of infection of the mouth caused by Candida albicans. They mainly
affect the areas such as outside area of the lips, inside the cheeks,
tongue and palate.
• Oesophageal Thrush (Oesophagitis):
Oral thrush some times spread to the oesophagus. This is a linking
between mouth and the stomach.
• Skin Candidiasis: This is
caused mainly in the areas of the skin because of the presence of
moist and the area which does not receive sufficient ventilation. Some
of such areas include diaper area, webs of fingers, toes, buttocks,
under the breasts and the fingernail beds.
• Vaginal yeast Infection:
This is a common type of yeast infection of the vaginal area. The main
cause for this infection is the result of self contamination with
yeast organisms from the rectal passage. Sexual transmission is
possible but rear.
• Balanitis: These are the
less infecting but they cause irritation in the glans of the penis and
beneath the foreskin.
• Systemic candidiasis:
This mainly the peoples having the less functioning of the immune
systems such as those affected by HIV-positive, cancer. Organs
affected by this yeast includes brain, eye, liver and heart.
